OPENING TIP

• In his fifth season at Oklahoma, head coach Porter Moser is 53-10 (.841) in regular season non-conference play.

• OU has won 23 of its last 26 regular season non-conference games (it went 13-0 last season) and 36 of its last 40.

• Oklahoma is 8-3 with two non-conference games remaining. The Sooners are looking to reach double-digit regular season non-league victories for the fourth time in Moser's five seasons (they did it each of the last two years).

• OU is 5-0 at home this season (4-0 at Lloyd Noble Center and 1-0 at McCasland Field House), with all five starters averaging double figures in scoring in those contests.

• Stetson, located in DeLand, Fla., is led by head coach Donnie Jones, who is in his seventh season with the Hatters. He owns a 90-110 record there and led them to the the program's only NCAA Tournament after winning the 2024 Atlantic Sun Tournament Championship behind tournament MVP Jalen Blackmon. Blackmon later transferred to Miami and teamed up with current Sooner Nijel Pack during the 2024-25 season.

• The Hatters are 4-8 this season with Division I wins against Howard (64-60) and VMI (99-80). Stetson took on another SEC program this year, falling 82-51 at South Carolina.

SERIES HISTORY

 • Oklahoma has won all three of its meetings against Stetson. The first two games were part of a home-and-home series in the 1971-72 and 1972-73 seasons, with the Sooners notching a 94-78 victory in Norman followed by an 84-76 win in DeLand.

• OU won the other matchup 85-64 on Nov. 16 last season at Lloyd Noble Center. Guard Kobe Elvis (24 points on 9-of-15 shooting) and forward Jalon Moore (21 points on 9-of-14 shooting) combined for more than half the team's points. The squads shot similarly (OU 49% and Stetson 48%), but the Hatters committed 23 turnovers to OU's 11, and the Sooners outscored them 31-9 off turnovers. Center Mohamed Wague (four points and five rebounds in 11 minutes) and guard Dayton Forsythe (three points and two assists in 17 minutes) were the only current OU players who saw action.

OU TEAM NUGGETS

• Seven Sooners have scored in double figures in at least one game this season, and Pack has scored at least 13 in 10 of 11. Pack leads the team with his 17.1 points per game while Brown (14.5), Davis (12.5) and Reid (11.4) also average double figures. Wague rounds out the starting five with his 7.5 points per contest.

• Since averaging 7.3 points on 7-for-30 field goal and 0-for-14 3-point shooting over a three-game stretch while battling a sprained ankle, Brown has scored 21 points each of the last two outings. Over the two contests, he is 14 for 24 (.583) from the field, 5 for 12 (.417) from deep and 9 for 9 on free throws, and has committed just two turnovers.

• Reid's four highest-scoring games of his career have come in his last six outings, as he tallied 16 points against Alcorn State (to go along with a career-high eight rebounds), 15 vs. Marquette, a career-high 18 at Wake Forest and 15 points vs. Kansas City (as well as six boards and four assists), all OU wins.

• Davis was a terror in OU's wins against Marquette and Wake Forest, particularly in the second half. In those games he averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists and went 14 for 18 from the field. In the second half of those contests, he made 11 of 12 shots and averaged 14.0 points. He also tallied all nine of his points against Oklahoma State on Saturday after halftime.

• Davis ranks second in the SEC with his 3.4 offensive rebounds per contest and ninth with his 7.1 total boards per outing. He had 11 offensive rebounds against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Oklahoma's most in a contest since at least the 1995-96 season. Against Marquette five games ago, he reeled in 11 boards, including six of OU's 10 on offense. He surpassed 1,000 career points and 500 rebounds, and sits at 1,020 and 506.

• Wague's two highest career point totals have come this season (16 in the opener vs. Saint Francis and 20 vs. Oral Roberts). Four games ago at Wake Forest, he logged career highs in minutes (32) and rebounds (14), and tied a season high with three assists. He is shooting a team-high .633.

• Davis (3.4) and Wague (3.0) rank second and fourth in the SEC in offensive rebounds per game. They also rank in the top 10 in overall rebounding (Wague eighth at 7.2 and Davis ninth at 7.1).

OU PLAYER NOTES

• Oklahoma has scored at least 85 points in seven of its 11 games (64%). Last season, OU reached the 85-point mark nine times in 34 contests (26%).

• The Sooners' three losses have come to teams who have combined for a 31-4 (.886) record through Saturday (Gonzaga is 11-1, Nebraska is 11-0 and Arizona State is 9-3).

• Oklahoma is one of just two SEC teams (LSU is the other) that has started the same lineup every game this season (guards Xzayvier Brown and Nijel Pack, forwards Tae Davis and Derrion Reid and center Mohamed Wague).

• The Sooners have outscored nine of their 11 opponents after halftime and own a +7.8 average margin in the second half. Nebraska (61-48) and Kansas City (40-35) are the only teams to outscore OU in the second 20 minutes.

• The Sooners ranked 321st in 2024-25 with their 2.3 blocked shots per game, but through 11 outings this year are averaging 4.0. Wague ranks fifth in the SEC with his 1.7 rejections per game. He has multiple blockes in four of the last five outings.

LEADER OF THE PACK

• Oklahoma sixth-year guard Nijel Pack leads the SEC and ranks fifth nationally with his 3.8 3-point field goals per game. He is also second in the SEC and ranks 23rd in the country with his .472 3-point field goal percentage.

• Over the last nine contests, Pack is 36-for-71 (.507) from long distance. He has made at least one 3-pointer in all 10 games, at least three in nine contests and at least four in seven outings. He buried at least three treys in six consecutive games between Nov. 11 and Dec. 2, the first Sooner to accomplish the feat since consensus national player of the year Buddy Hield during OU's 2015-16 Final Four campaign.

LOADED HOME SEC SLATE

• All nine SEC teams that play in Norman this season made last year's NCAA Tournament, including national champion Florida, Final Four participant Auburn, Elite Eight participant Alabama and Sweet 16 teams Arkansas and Ole Miss.

• OU's other league foes that will visit Lloyd Noble Center are Georgia, Missouri, Texas and Texas A&M.

UP NEXT

• The Sooners close non-conference play by hosting Mississippi Valley State on Monday, Dec. 29, at 7 p.m. CT at Lloyd Noble Center.
