NORMAN — Oklahoma's men's and women's basketball teams are set to face Michigan at the 2024 Jumpman Invitational, presented by Novant Health, as announced on Thursday.
The women's team will tip off against Michigan on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 8:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2, while the men's team, led by head coach
Porter Moser, will take on the Wolverines on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 8 p.m. CT, also on ESPN2.
The two-day event, which is in its third year of competition, will be held at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C., and features the original four Jordan Brand schools: Florida, Michigan, North Carolina and Oklahoma.
Both Oklahoma teams hold a 1-1 record in the Jumpman Invitational, with each winning in 2022 before falling last season. Tickets for the 2024 event will be available in September.
After winning 20 regular season contests for the first time since 2015-16, Oklahoma welcomes back frontcourt starters
Sam Godwin and
Jalon Moore. Moore earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades in 2023-24, averaging 11.1 points and team highs in rebounds (6.7) and blocks (1.0) per outing. Godwin buried 59.8% of his shots last season, ranking seventh in program history for a single season. In addition to the returning duo, OU welcomes seven transfers and three freshmen, who will look to make an immediate impact in Oklahoma's inaugural season in the SEC.
Under the leadership of fourth-year women's basketball head coach
Jennie Baranczyk, the Sooners return over 95% of their scoring, rebounding, and assists from last year's Big 12 championship squad. Additionally, they'll welcome the nation's top transfer in All-American center
Raegan Beers.
Both teams announced their SEC schedules earlier this week and will release their full non-conference schedules at a later date.
