NORMAN — The Oklahoma wrestling team added another member to its 2024 signing class Friday with the addition of Ricky Thomas, who signed a letter of acceptance with the Sooners.
Thomas, a three-time High School All-American, recently capped a 44-win senior season with his second OSSAA 6A-285 lbs State Championship at Edmond North. The heavyweight also helped his team set a new championship tournament record with 260.5 points to win the Class 6A title alongside fellow 2024 Sooner signees Hunter Hollingsworth and Jude Randall. Thomas adds to head coach Roger Kish's first full recruiting class which boasts numerous all-area, all-state and All-America honors, as well as state championships.
"We are excited to formally announce the addition of Ricky Thomas to our program," Kish said. "He is a very talented and hard-working Oklahoma kid that will fit in well with our team."
Thomas finished his high school career with 123 wins and 97 pins. He was ranked No. 97 in FloWrestling's most recent pound-for-pound rankings, while MatScouts had Thomas ranked as the No. 14 heavyweight in the nation on its 2024 Big Board.
