Big 12 Releases Brackets for Wrestling Championship

NORMAN – The Big 12 Conference released brackets for the 2024 Big 12 Wrestling Championship Monday evening. In total, six Oklahoma wrestlers received a top-eight seed, three of which are seeded fourth or better. Six Sooners will have an opening-round match while four drew a bye into the quarterfinals.
Willie McDougald and Stephen Buchanan claimed the No. 2 seeds at 149 and 197 pounds, respectively. Josh Heindselman was named the No. 4 seed at 285 pounds after compiling a 19-4 regular-season record. Other Sooners to earn seeds are No. 6 Cael Carlson at 165 pounds, No. 6 Tate Picklo at 174 pounds and No. 8 Jared Hill at 157 pounds.
The conference tournament will be held March 9-10 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla. Sessions 1-3 will be streamed via Big 12 Now on ESPN+ while the Finals will be televised on ESPN2. This is the ninth neutral-site conference championship for the sport and the eighth in Tulsa.
