Men's Hoops Earns Gritty Bedlam Victory

NORMAN – Junior Jalon Moore led the Sooners with 15 points and RV/RV Oklahoma earned the Bedlam victory against Oklahoma State 66-62 at Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday night.
Moore was the lone Sooner (18-6, 6-5 Big 12) to record double figures. The Birmingham, Ala., product finished 5-for-9 from the field and added a team-high eight rebounds and four blocks.
Down one with 4:34 left, Oklahoma evened the score after Milos Uzan made a free throw. Senior Le'Tre Darthard, who finished 3-for-4 from deep, buried his third 3-pointer of the contest, giving OU its first lead since 7:37 in the second half.
Oklahoma State's (10-14, 2-8 Big 12) Javon Small drove on the next possession and Moore swatted the shot and corralled the rebound. Moore was rewarded for his defensive effort and found his way to the free throw line, extending the OU advantage to 61-56.
OSU cut its deficit back to one after a basket and a pair of made free throws.
Up 61-60 with 1:20 left, junior Javian McCollum was fouled after a missed three attempt by Small. McCollum visited the charity stripe four times in the final 30 seconds, making all four of his attempts.
Senior Rivaldo Soares iced the victory with a steal and found sophomore Otega Oweh, who was fouled with two seconds left. Oweh buried his first attempt, putting the Sooners up four.
Oklahoma held Oklahoma State to 30.6% (19-62) shooting from the field and 16.7% (3-18) from deep.
The Sooners received 29 bench points, including nine from Darthard, seven from redshirt junior John Hugley and five from redshirt freshman Luke Northweather. Soares finished the outing with eight points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Uzan dished out a team-high six assists and added eight points.
