Men's Hoops Drops Road Contest at No. 12 Baylor

WACO, Texas – Senior Rivaldo Soares scored a team-high 17 points and No. 25/21 Oklahoma dropped its lone regular-season meeting against No. 12/13 Baylor 79-62 at Foster Pavilion on Tuesday night.
Soares finished 5-for-6 from the field, including two 3-pointers. The Boston, Mass., product added five rebounds and two assists.
Baylor tallied the first basket before junior Javian McCollum gave the Sooners the lead with his lone 3-pointer of the outing.
After a made basket by BU's Ja'Kobe Walter, sophomore Milos Uzan and senior Sam Godwin recorded back-to-back buckets, swinging the momentum back in OU's favor.
The Bears strung together an 8-0 run over the next three minutes and held a 12-7 advantage with 14:29 left in the first.
Oklahoma trimmed the deficit to one with two made free throws each by redshirt freshman Luke Northweather and McCollum.
The two programs traded baskets before Soares narrowed the BU advantage to 16-15 with 9:58 left. BU extended its lead to five after a pair of baskets.
Uzan evened the score with a driving layup and deep 3-pointer, knotting the score at 20-all with 6:48 remaining.
Baylor drained three consecutive triples over the next two minutes and controlled the remainder of the half, entering the break up 40-27.
Despite runs by the Sooners in the second half, Baylor fended off OU's attempts at a comeback.
Uzan, McCollum, junior Jalon Moore and sophomore Otega Oweh each scored nine points. McCollum and Uzan dished out a team-high four assists, and Godwin and Scores finished with five boards.
