Ka'anapali Classic
Nov. 2-4 / 54 Holes / Maui, Hawai'i / Royal Ka'anapali Golf Club

NORMAN — The No. 2-ranked Oklahoma men's golf team will close its successful fall slate this weekend at the Ka'anapali Classic in Maui, Hawai'i. The three-day, 54-hole event tees off on Saturday with teams playing 18 holes each day before a champion is crowned on Monday.

Oklahoma has won the last two team titles at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Club and lifted four trophies at the tournament since 2015.

In their most recent outing, the Sooners finished third at the Stephens Cup after knocking off San Diego State in the bronze-medal match at the stroke- and match-play hybrid event. Ryder Cowan and Matthew Troutman shared fourth in the individual race.

The 21-team field in Hawai'i features two top-five teams in the second-ranked Sooners and No. 5 LSU.

Head coach Ryan Hybl will debut true freshman Asher Whitaker, who joins the lineup in place of Drew Goodman. Sophomore Ryder Cowan will lead as the No. 1 bag, followed by Troutman at No. 2, while PJ Maybank III and Jase Summy return the the lineup. Whitaker rounds out the card, and Clark Van Gaalen and Jaxon Dowell will compete as individuals, unattached from the official OU lineup.

In an effort to support those affected by the tragic wildfires on the island last year and in partnership with 501(c)3 organizations Spare for Change, a fundraising campaign has been launched to benefit wildfire victims, including Ka'anapali Golf Courses' own associates who tragically lost everything. THE COURSE AND HISTORY AT EVENT

One of the top courses in Hawai'i, the Royal Ka'anapali Course is one of only two courses in all of Hawai'i designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. It sits at just 6,700 yards and plays as a par-71. Oklahoma has won the event four times (2015, 2019, 2022, 2023) and has set records in the process. The Sooners set a then-school record with an 805 (-47) to win in 2019 as Quade Cummins carded a 193 (-20), breaking Abe Ancer's school record for 54-hole score. Then, in 2022, the Sooners posted an 811 (-41) to win the event and hoisted the trophy again last season, carding a 42-under to win as Luke Kluver won medalist honors at -18.

TEE TIMES AND PAIRINGS

The Oklahoma lineup tees off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in a shotgun start, and pairings will be released closer to tee time.
