Soccer Continues Big 12 Play Thursday in Norman

NORMAN — Oklahoma continues its full swing into conference play this week with a home match vs. Kansas State at John Crain Field on Thursday night. First touch is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be aired on ESPN+.

The Sooners will look to remain unbeaten at home on Thursday as OU is 4-0-1 in Norman this year. Thursday's contest pits two teams against each other that are looking for their first conference wins of the season.

Thursday's match will start at 7 p.m. and fans are encouraged to arrive early. Gates open one hour prior to first touch, and a clear-bag policy will be in order. For more information please visit our event website.

The Sooners will host Socctoberfest, and fans can enjoy half-priced COOP Ale Works beers on draft. The concession stand will offer special German-themed items like pretzels and cheese, as well as bratwursts and sauerkraut. The first 400 fans will receive a limited edition OU Socctoberfest mug.

The match will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Chad McKee and Marissa McMahand on the call.

SEASON STORYLINES

• Offensive Explosion: Oklahoma is putting together one of the top seasons offensively in program history. OU ranks inside the top 25 nationally in goals/game (2.89, 20th), assists/game (2.56 25th), PPG (8.33/16th) and SOG/game (10.33/5th). OU's 2.89 goals per game would shatter the school record of 2.43 (2008).

• Winning With Washington: Alexis Washington, who set the school record for assists in a season (9) last year, has five assists this season. Her next assist would move her into a tie for second all-time at Oklahoma. She is only a sophomore. The school record is 18 (Lauren MacIver).

• Last Trip 'Round the Neighborhood: The 2023 Big 12 slate is Oklahoma soccer's last in the conference as the Sooners move into the Southeastern Conference next season. The Sooners have produced 39 All-Big 12 honorees as members of the league and accumulated 73 wins.
