Get To Know the Sooners: Conrad Hendriksen

At Oklahoma, we want our fans to connect with our student-athletes on and off the mat. As a result, we'll be doing a "Get to Know Our Sooner Wrestlers" segment in our newsletters. In this edition, you'll get to know Conrad Hendriksen.

Question: What's your background off the mat? Where are you from? What is your family like?

Answer: I come from a very supportive family that I am very grateful for. I am from Carrollton Texas, and I am a proud Texan!

Q: How did you get into wrestling?

A: My father was a wrestler and I was put into the sport at a very young age but really didn't really fall in love with the sport until I was about 13.

Q: What about wrestling makes you love the sport?

A: The confidence that is gives me off of the mat and the feeling of winning a match.

Q: What are some of your biggest accomplishments on the mat?

A: 3 time Texas State champion, 4x Fargo All American and Wrestling here at OU!

Q: What made you want to come to Oklahoma?

A: Being from North Texas OU was the closest D1 program to home. I always grew up a Sooner Wrestling fan so representing these colors really means the world to me.

Q: What are you enjoying the most so far about wrestling for Coach Kish and his staff?

A:. I am enjoying the fun they bring to the Mat Room, and most importantly the relationships I have with the coaches. I have really grown super attached to this group of people and I really see them as more than coaches.

Q: What can OU fans expect when they see you on the mat?

A: A fight!

Q: What are your goals for the rest of the season?

A: My goal for the rest of this season is to produce the best version of Conrad Hendriksen anyone has seen this March!

Q: Why should fans be excited about this new era of OU Wrestling?

A: Because there is a new idenity of OU wrestling. Every Dual there will be 10 fights and every man on this team will go out there and fight for seven minutes plus!

A: Fuzzy Tacos

Q: What are some of your hobbies outside of wrestling?

A: Disc golf, rapping and Fishing

Q: What's your favorite sport other than wrestling?

A: Golf and Baseball
