COLUMBIA, Mo. -Ā Oklahoma won two of the final three bouts before the intermission but eventually fell to No. 3 Missouri, 30-12, in Big 12 dual action on Friday night in Columbia.
The Sooners (3-1 overall, 1-1 Big 12) claimed victory at 133, 141 and 197 but suffered five bonus point defeats throughout the night. The Tigers (2-0 overall, 1-0 Big 12) earned their first Big 12 win of the season and third straight against OU.
The dual started with the heavyweights, as No. 14
Josh Heindselman clashed with No. 5 Zach Elam in a closely contested bout. Elam secured one minute of riding time to take the 2-1 win.
True freshman
Conrad HendriksenĀ was up next for the Sooners against No. 13 Noah Surtin, but he dropped a 10-1 major decision.Ā
No. 33
Jace KoelzerĀ got things going for the Sooners at 133 when he landed a takedown on No. 32 Zeke Seltzer with 20 seconds left. The 4-1 decision gave Koelzer his first ranked win of the season.
The Sooners cut into the deficit again when No. 8
Mosha Schwartz earned a takedown and near fall in sudden-death overtime to defeat No. 20 Josh Edmond. Schwartz' 11-4 win improved his undefeated record to 4-0.
In the last match before intermission, No. 20
Willie McDougald took the mat at 149 for the fourth consecutive dual against Missouri's Logan Gioffre. Three periods weren't enough for Gioffre, as he needed extra time to get his first win over a ranked opponent as a starter. A takedown in overtime gave the redshirt junior a 4-1 sudden victory decision.
After the break, OU's
John Wiley got the start at 157 for the third time this season but fell 12-4 to Missouri's Brock Mauller.
OU's
Cael CarlsonĀ faced a tough test at 165 when he met No. 1 Keegan O'Toole. Carlson scored an early reversal but was pinned in the second period.

Tate Picklo was defeated by Missouri's No. 6 Peyton Mocco via 16-1 tech fall.
The bout at 184 featured the sixth ranked matchup of the night when No. 29
Giuseppe Hoose (OU) and No. 16 Clayton Whiting (MU) squared off. Whiting picked up Missouri's fourth consecutive bonus point victory with a 19-4 tech fall.
Missouri elected to forfeit the final match of the dual at 197 pounds.
The Sooners get a quick turnaround as they return to the mat on Sunday, Dec. 3 in Morgantown, W.Va., at 1 p.m. for another Big-12 matchup with No. 21 West Virginia. Following the trip to WVU, Oklahoma returns home to the Sooner state for theĀ 187th edition of Bedlam against No. 11 Oklahoma State on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.
