Mizzou XC Opener

August 31, 2022 | Cross Country
NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma men's and women's cross country teams begin their 2022 season Thursday in Columbia, Mo., at the Mizzou XC Opener.
The meet, held at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course, will feature a 6K for the men and 5K race for the women's team. The Sooners will feature eight women's runners and nine on the men's side.
The Sooners return to the course under the guidance of associate head cross country coach Hannah Fields, her second year at OU.
"The team is excited to kick off the season at the Missouri XC Opener," said Fields. "This will be the first time racing this course, so we're looking forward to getting familiar with the regional meet location. We're using this race to test the summer fitness against some great competition."
The Sooners return numerous contributors from their 2021 squads and will welcome plenty of fresh faces, with seven newcomers.
Live results from the Mizzou XC Opener will be available via PTTiming.
