⢠Oklahoma continues its nine-game homestand with a series against UTSA this weekend at L. Dale Mitchell Park. The Sooners and Roadrunners are scheduled to play a single game at 2 p.m. Saturday, and a doubleheader Sunday beginning at noon. The series was shifted to a Saturday-Sunday format due to inclement weather in Oklahoma on Friday.

⢠The Sooners are in the middle of a nine-game homestand that began on Tuesday against Dallas Baptist. Starting Saturday, OU will play eight games in 10 days at L. Dale Mitchell Park: three games vs. UTSA (March 12-13), two games vs. Air Force (March 15-16) and three games vs. New Orleans (March 18-20).

Peyton Graham has multiple hits in five of Oklahoma's 11 games this season, and is on an eight-game hitting streak.
Blake Robertson has reached base safely in all 11 contests. He and

⢠UTSA is hitting .325 as a team and averaging 9.5 runs and 4.1 extra base hits per game (28 doubles, 17 home runs). The pitching staff has compiled a 4.15 ERA, 118 strikeouts to 52 walks and 86 hits in 104.0 innings and has allowed a .218 opponent batting average.
⢠Oklahoma is in its fifth season under the direction of head coach
Skip Johnson (including the 2020 season that was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson, who spent the 2017 season on staff as an assistant coach, has led the Sooners to a 118-85 record since taking over as head coach prior to the 2018 season.
Series History
⢠Oklahoma and UTSA split two games in 2003 in Norman. It is the only previous meeting between the programs. The Sooners won the first game 9-5 before the Roadrunners won 4-1 in the second.

ā¢Ā The Sooners have registered 24 stolen bases in 31 attempts this season.
Kendall Pettis, who led OU with seven steals last season, already has a team-high seven stolen bases.

ā¢Ā OU's most steals over the last four seasons was 46, last year. The Sooners registered 32 steals in 18 games during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, 29 steals in 2019 and 44 steals in 2018.
ā¢Ā Oklahoma finished opening weekend with six stolen bases over three games, then went off for 11 steals against Wichita State on Feb. 22. Three players ā Graham, Pettis and Tredaway ā each had three stolen bases in the game.Ā
ā¢Ā Prior to Feb. 22, no single Sooner had stolen three bases in a game since Erik Ross against Hartford in 2012. Oklahoma (3-1) finished the Wichita State game one steal shy of the school record of 12, set in 1937 against East Central (Okla.) University.

Jaret Godman got the last four outs for his second save of the season. The Sooners scored seven runs in the fifth inning to take a 7-1 lead and added another in the seventh inning to hold off the Patriots.

ā¢Ā Oklahoma competed in the Shriners Children's College Classic at Minute Maid Park in Houston last weekend. The Sooners took No. 7 LSU to 11 innings before falling 5-4 on a walk-off home run. OU then dropped the final two games to UCLA (15-3) and No. 11 Tennessee (8-0).

Jake Bennett was outstanding once again last Friday. He allowed just one run over 6.2 innings ā his longest outing of the season so far ā and struck out four batters. He retired the first seven batters of the game and allowed only two hits through six innings. The run that scored was his first allowed through 18.0 innings this season.Ā

Tanner Tredaway led the Sooners with a .417 batting average in the Shriners College Classic. He went 5 for 12 with a double and a triple, and scored two runs. He also drew a walk and posted a .462 OBP and a .750 SLG%.
