THE 2022 SOONERS

OU returns seniors Ivana Corley, Alexandra Pisareva and Marcelina Podlinska, junior Carmen Corley and sophomore Dana Guzman.

The Sooners have added freshmen Anchisa Chanta (Bangkok, Thailand), who will make her OU debut in the spring, and Emma Staker, who competed in the fall. Chanta comes to Oklahoma with a career-high singles ranking of 586 in the WTA, a UTR high of 11.52 and a $15k title. Staker joined the team as a Blue Chip (top-25) recruit with a No. 24 ranking in her signing class and a No. 1 ranking in the state of Oklahoma.

Newcomer Layne Sleeth (Markham, Ontario), a junior transfer from Florida, made her OU debut during the team's fall season. Sleeth earned the highest ITA Preseason individual ranking on the team, coming in at No. 16. In her first match with the Sooners, Sleeth tallied three ranked singles wins.

Head coach Audra Cohen enters her sixth season and holds a 69-39 record. Cohen is joined by assistant coach Jose Gracia, hired in August 2021, and volunteer assistant coach Mariana Cobra.

2021 IN REVIEW

The Sooners finished the 2021 season 15-7 overall for .682 win percentage, their best under Cohen. For the first time since 2014, OU entered the ITA top 25 and rose as high as No. 21. The team downed seven ranked opponents, with its signature win against No. 16 and eventual American Athletic Conference champion UCF.

For the first time in Cohen's tenure, three or more players appeared in the ITA singles rankings each week they were released, and each earned career-high rankings. Additionally, Carmen and Ivana Corley peaked at No. 11 nationally to capture the program's highest doubles ranking in history at the time.
