THE STARTING FIVE
- The Sooners 13-2 start is the program's best since the 2006-07 team opened the year 17-1. OU ascended into the AP Top 25 on Jan. 3 following weeks of receiving votes, and Wednesday's contest will mark the first ranked matchup between the Sooners and Bears since 2017.
Ā Ā
- Under head coach Jennie Baranczyk, the Sooners high-powered offense is one of the best in the nation. OU's 87.9 points per game rank second nationally and first in the league as the attack is powered by 20.3 assists per game, also second-most in Division I hoops. Taylor Robertson (19.1 PPG) and Madi Williams (18.4) make Oklahoma the only team in the Big 12 and one of three teams nationally to land two scorers inside the nation's top 50. Robertson leads the country with 66 made 3-pointers this year as the Sooners sink 10 treys a game, fifth-most in the nation.Ā
Ā Ā Ā
- A win on Wednesday would beĀ the program's first win over a top-15 opponent in its last 19 tries. The team's last win over a top-15 opponent came in a 74-73 victory over No. 8 Texas on Feb. 18, 2017.Ā
Ā Ā Ā
- On Jan. 8, the Sooners erased a 16-point first-half deficit at Kansas to defeat the Jayhawks 82-68, marking the program's fourth-largest comeback ever vs. a Big 12 opponent. The 30-point swing was the team's third-largest since 1996. Madi Williams secured a double-double, posting 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Taylor Robertson led all players with 24 points.Ā
Ā Ā Ā
- Taylor Robertson will chase history on Wednesday night as she enters the contest just four 3-pointers shy of tying Laurie Koehn's Big 12 record of 392 made treys.Ā
SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday's meeting with Baylor is Oklahoma's 60th all-time, with the Bears owning a 33-26 series lead. The Sooners last knocked off the Bears 68-64 in 2015 at home as Baylor has won 13 straight. BU is one of just two Big 12 schools (Texas) that the Sooners don't maintain an all-time series advantage. Baranczyk has never faced Baylor in her head coaching career.
