Launch Pad to Fund Alumni Area at New Stadium

Sooner Club members and softball letterwinners are teaming up as the pledge-per-home run campaign enters its final stretch for the 2021 season. Current and future gifts for the #LaunchPad will be earmarked for the Sooners For Life Recognition area within the new stadium which will recognize the significant accomplishments of former student-athletes and the Sooner Club members who made this area possible.

"Recognizing our players who have built the foundation and ultimately paved the way for what our program is today is really an exciting opportunity," said head OU softball coach Patty Gasso. "Of course, it is only appropriate that our generous Sooner Club members be recognized alongside these players, just as they have been alongside us supporting and cheering through the years. This recognition will be a true representation and symbol of the love and admiration between our players and supporters, further instilling that once you commit to being a student-athlete at Oklahoma you are a Sooner for Life."

With a goal of surpassing $75,000 by the end of the season, the #LaunchPad is another opportunity for Sooner Club members and fans to celebrate what we all hold true – we are Sooners for Life. To date, the pledge-per-home run campaign has raised over $35,000 for the softball stadium project as the team has now eclipsed 130 home runs this year. Each #LaunchPad donor will also be recognized in this Sooners For Life Recognition area to celebrate the accomplishments achieved together.

"It's important to also recognize that the Sooners for Life area wouldn't be possible without the accomplishments of our team this season. Our players' grit and hunger for greatness has been on display and it is really special to have this unique connection between current players, former student-athletes and supporters coming together in this way." said Gasso.

The #LaunchPad is all about #homers. Pledge to donate your own customized dollar amount for every #homer that OU Softball hits in 2021!

All donations are 100% tax deductible and will be directed toward the Sooners For Life Recognition area in the new stadium.
