12 Sooners to Compete at UWW Junior and Senior Nationals

NORMAN - Set for their first action since the conclusion of the 2020-21 NCAA wrestling season, 12 Oklahoma wrestlers are set to compete at UWW Junior and Senior Nationals this weekend at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa.
The event plays an important role in the qualification process for the 2021 U.S. Senior World Team in men's freestyle, Greco-Roman and women's freestyle, which will compete in Oslo, Norway, October 2-10. The top-five place winners in each weight class will advance to the 2021 World Team Trials on September 3-5, at a site to be announced. It will also have qualifying implications for the 2021 Pan American Championships in Guatemala City, Guatemala, May 27-30.
The UWW Junior Nationals will have divisions in men's freestyle and Greco-Roman. The champion in men's freestyle and Greco-Roman will compete for the USA at the 2021 UWW Junior World Championships in Ufa, Russia, August 16-22. The UWW Junior Nationals will also have qualifying implications for both the 2021 Pan American Junior Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina, June 9-13 as the 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia, September 15-18.
