NORMAN — The Oklahoma soccer team will close its regular season on Saturday afternoon when it plays host to Kansas State at John Crain Field.

"We're excited to finish on a high note and put together the most complete performance that we can," first-year head coach Mark Carr said. "With all the sacrifices that our student-athletes have made, I would really love to finish the spring on a high note and execute at the highest level. We have to learn from our game against Baylor and execute."

In that match versus the Bears on April 10, the Sooners equalized in the second half behind a Bri Amos goal, but an 84th-minute goal for Baylor proved to be the difference. Ten of Oklahoma's 14 matches have ended in a draw or been decided by a single goal.

GAMEDAY STORYLINES

MATCH BASICS

The Sooners and Wildcats faced each other in Manhattan last fall, with K-State claiming a 3-0 decision. Oklahoma will seek to avenge that loss in the match slated for a 1 p.m. first touch.

Fans can watch the match on Bally Sports Oklahoma or stream it on Fox Sports Go.

YOUTH MOVEMENT

The six Oklahoma freshmen have combined for 17 starts this season, led by Big 12 All-Freshman honoree Cailey England with 12 starts to her name, third-most on the roster. England joins sophomores Maya McCutcheon and Caroline Berutti as the only Sooners to tally over 1000 minutes played as a freshman.

Freshman striker CeCe Cross leads the team in goals (2) and points (4) on just seven shots.

In the Oklahoma State match, a trio of Sooners led the charge in the first half in the attacking third as Cross, England and Abby Mitchell all tallied minutes up top for Carr's team.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS

Kansas State (3-8-2) is in its fifth season and owns wins over Oklahoma, Iowa State and Texas Tech. The Wildcats, led by Mike Dibbini, are winless in the spring, being shutout in three of its four matches, including a 1-0 loss at Iowa State a week ago.

SERIES HISTORY

The Sooners hold a 3-1-0 advantage over K-State entering Saturday's match and have never lost in Norman to the Wildcats. Kansas State dealt the Sooners a 3-0 loss in the fall.

COACH CARR'S THOUGHTS

On the rematch:
"There are no easy games in the Big 12. We played Kansas State in the fall, and we were dissatisfied with our level of performance, and we know that we can do better. This is our final game and a home game at John Crain Field, so we've got an opportunity individually and collectively to put this right, and I know our group will be up for the game."

On the Wildcats:
"They've played a competitive schedule like us. I know they'll want to finish on a high note. I've seen them play in a variety of different shapes, and they've got some dangerous pieces. At the end of the day, it's about giving our best performance and being motivated to play and compete on the highest level and executing in key moments of the game at both ends. Our goal is to finish on a high note in terms of performance and outcome."
