NORMAN ā The Big 12 announced the pre-seeds for the Big 12 Wrestling Championship on Monday afternoon. The championship is slated for March 6-7 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., and features eight Sooners in the initial pre-seeded weight classes.
For the first time, the Championship was seeded by an independent five-person panel.
Dom Demas and
Justin Thomas claim the two seeds at 141 and 157 pounds, respectively.
Mitch Moore was named the third pre-seed at 149 pounds after compiling a 7-3 regular-season record. Freshman heavyweight
Josh Heindselman is the No. 4 seed, behind three top-15 heavyweights in Gannon Gremmel, Carter Isley and Brian Andrews. At 197 pounds,
Jake Woodley owns the fifth seed as he hunts for his third NCAA qualification.
Darrien Roberts, seventh at 184 pounds, and
Mason Naifeh and
Anthony Mantanona, the eighth seeds in their classes, round out the seeded Sooners.
133-pounder
Tony Madrigal and
Troy Mantanona (165) will wrestle unseeded. Madrigal is ranked 32nd by the NCAA Coaches, one spot above the cut line for the NCAA Championship.

www.bokcenter.com. All fans will be in POD seating, increasing distancing and minimizing fan crossover when entering and exiting their seats. Fans must purchase all tickets in a selected POD group, available in select section groupings of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 seats. The official OU sections are 105-107 and 311.
This is the sixth neutral-site conference championship for the sport and the fifth in Tulsa. Big 12 Now on ESPN+ will broadcast the first three sessions of the event, while the championship round will air on ESPN2 beginning at 5 p.m. CT.
