NORMAN āĀ Oklahoma wrestling is ranked in all 10 weight classes for the third consecutive week and the Sooners are No. 18 in the NWCAĀ coaches' poll.
OU dropped its first dual of the week to No. 7 Arizona State (22-12) and rebounded with a dominate win over Big 12 foe Northern Colorado (30-7).
Anthony Mantanona (NR/27/NR)*,
Darrien Roberts and
Jake Woodley were undefeated in their matches against the Sun Devils and Bears. Roberts (19/19/NR) and Woodley (6/7/6) each moved up in their weight class rankings.
Redshirt senior
Joey Prata (18/20/17) climbed in all three rankings and split of his matches. Prata battled with top-3 ranked Brandon Courtney of Arizona State and earned a 3-2 decision against the Bears in his final match of the week.
Dom Demas (14/6/7),
Mitch Moore (18/17/11) and
Justin Thomas (17/14/16) all held on to their rankings from the previous week.
Tony Madrigal (13/19/15) dropped slightly in the rankings, but continues to be ranked in the top 20 in all three for the Sooners.
Joe GrelloĀ (NR/30/NR), a transfer from Rutgers, made his first appearance in the Crimson and Cream and lost a hard-fought match to top-10 foe Anthony Valencia of Arizona State. Grello is ranked No. 30 by Intermat.
Heavyweight
Josh Heindselman (19/28/NR) split his matches over the weekend. Heindselman dropped his battle against No. 3 Colton Schultz of ASU and topped Northern Colorado's Robert Winters via a takedown in sudden victory.
The Sooners are back in action next weekend in the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas, N.V., Dec. 3-4. Their next dual action is their Bedlam home match on Dec. 12 in Lloyd Noble Center.Ā
