NORMAN ā For the second consecutive week, all 10 of Oklahoma's wrestlers are ranked in their weight classes as the team held steady at No. 17 in the latest polls.
Following a 28-10 victory over West Virginia in the team's first dual action of the season, Oklahoma (1-0, 1-0 Big 12) stayed inside the top 20. The Sooners will take on No. 7 Arizona State on Friday before a Big 12 showdown with Northern Colorado on Sunday.
In the individual rankings,
Joey Prata (20/22/19) and
Tony Madrigal (10/8/12) moved up in the published rankings (Flo/Intermat/Open Mat) after winning their matches in the WVU dual.
Dom Demas (14/6/8) moved down a spot on FloWrestling's list while moving up three spots on Intermat's after being inactive over the weekend.
At 149 pounds,
Mitch Moore (18/17/11) fell one spot in the Intermat ranking while jumping two spots in the latest OpenMat poll. The senior registered his third pin of the season with a first-period fall (0:52) of WVU's Jeff Boyd.
Justin Thomas (18/13/14) and
Jake Woodley (6/9/7) maintained their positions across the board following wins against West Virginia. Thomas claimed a 5-3 decision victory over Alex Hornfeck in his first action of the season. Woodley won a 20-4 (4:19) tech fall against Jackson Moomau.
Rutgers graduate transfer
Joe Grello (NR/28/NR) moved up one spot in Intermat's poll. He has not appeared for the Sooners this season but is listed as one of two possible starters heading into the weekend.
Anthony Mantanona (HM/25/NR) jumped two spots in Intermat's poll.
Darrien Roberts (22/25/NR) climbed into FloWrestling's rankings this week at No. 22 while also moving up a spot in Intermat's rankings.
Redshirt sophomore
Josh Heindselman (19/25/19) dropped slightly in the rankings this weekend after his narrow loss to West Virginia's Michael Wolfgram over the weekend.
The Sooners travel to face No. 7 Arizona State Friday night in a rematch of last season's dual that the Sooners dropped 20-12, before traveling north to Greeley, Colo., for a matchup with Northern Colorado as
Lou Rosselli's team continues Big 12 action.
