Robertson, Gregory Receive Big 12 Honors

March 09, 2020 | Women's Basketball

NORMAN – Sophomore guard Taylor Robertson was tabbed an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention, while freshman guard Gabby Gregory was selected to the conference's All-Freshman Team on Monday.

The honors were voted on by the league's head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.

This is the second end of season award for Robertson, who was a member of the All-Big 12 All-Freshman Team. In 2019-20, Robertson has averaged 19.1 points per game and 18.5 in conference play. She has ranked in the Big 12's top five for scoring all year.

Robertson set a school record with eight straight 20-point scoring performances at the start of Big 12 play and had three 30-plus point outings this season to tie for the most by a league player.

Additionally, Robertson hit three career milestones over the season as she broke the OU single-season 3-pointers record (she has now drained 131); surpassed the Big 12 single-season treys record that had stood since 2002-03; and scored her 1,000th career point to become just the third Sooner to do so in three seasons or fewer.

Gregory has started in 22 contests this season and averaging 11.3 points per contest and 12.9 in league play. With a 30-point performance at Baylor on Feb. 22, became the only league freshman to score 30 this season. That game shattered her career high of 20, which she set in the previous game.

The Sooners begin the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championships on Thursday as the No. 9 seed. Oklahoma will face No. 8 Oklahoma State on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT inside Municipal Arena in Kansas City, Mo. The game will be televised on Fox College Sports.
