NORMAN — No. 10 and fourth-seeded Oklahoma (26-7, 11-5 SEC) looks to advance to its first Elite Eight since 2010 when it faces top-seeded No. 4 South Carolina (33-3, 15-1 SEC) in the Sweet 16 on Saturday at 4 p.m. CT in Sacramento. Courtney Lyle (play-by-play), Stephanie White (analyst) and Kris Budden (reporter) will call the matchup on ESPN.
The game marks a rematch of Oklahoma's 94-82 overtime win over the Gamecocks on Jan. 22. Fans can also listen on the Sooner Sports Radio Network (1520 AM) with Brian Brinkley and Tyler Neal, or in Spanish on Los Sooners Radio (1560 AM) with Danny Gonzales on the call.
To advance to Sacramento, the Sooners defeated Idaho 89-59 in the first round behind double-doubles from
Raegan Beers and
Sahara Williams. In the second round, OU erased a halftime deficit to defeat fifth-seeded Michigan State, 77-71, as Beers (18 points, 14 rebounds) and
Aaliyah Chavez (18 points) led the way.
The Sooners hold a 40-25 all-time NCAA Tournament record and have won at least one game in 22 of their 26 appearances. Oklahoma has reached 12 Sweet 16s, three Elite Eights (2002, 2009, 2010) and three Final Fours, finishing as national runner-up in 2002.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday is the sixth all-time meeting between the Sooners and Gamecocks and fourth in the last two seasons. OU holds a 4-2 series lead, but is 1-2 in those four meetings over the last 15 months.
The Sooners beat USC 94-82 in Norman earlier this season in overtime.
Aaliyah Chavez scored 15 points in the extra frame.
THE FAST BREAK
• Oklahoma is led by All-American
Raegan Beers and ESPN's national freshman of the year
Aaliyah Chavez. The two were both All-SEC selections with Beers named to the First Team for the second consecutive season and Chavez to the Second Team as a freshman. Beers is a third-team selection to the USBWA All-America Team and was an honorable mention for the Associated Press All-America squad, while both Beers and Chavez earned spots on the WBCA All-America Regional Finalist list.
• Oklahoma carries a 48-week active streak in the AP poll (6th longest in NCAA), the third-longest run in program history and the program's longest stretch since a 59-week span from 2000-03.
• Oklahoma continues to operate one of the fastest and most productive offenses in the country. The Sooners are averaging 86.5 points per game (4th NCAA) and 20.0 assists per game (4th NCAA) while playing at the fastest pace in the nation (79.5 possessions per game). OU also ranks first nationally in field goal attempts (71.8 per game). The offense reflects the identity
Jennie Baranczyk has built in Norman. Oklahoma is the only program in the country to average at least 82.0 points per game over the last five seasons, setting the school record last year at 84.7 PPG and is now on pace to break that mark again.
• A key on Saturday will come on the glass as both Oklahoma and South Carolina are two of the nation's best rebounding teams. Oklahoma has been one of the nation's most dominant rebounding teams, ranking second nationally in rebounds per game (48.67) while grabbing 32.5 defensive rebounds (1st NCAA) per contest. The Sooners own a +11.8 rebounding margin, fourth-best in the country. Rebounding has been a major indicator of success under
Jennie Baranczyk. Oklahoma is 47-2 when collecting 50 or more rebounds, with the only losses coming to Kentucky (Feb. 2, 2025) and at Vanderbilt (Feb. 9, 2026). Since the start of the 2024-25 season, OU has recorded 50+ rebounds 29 times, the most in the country during that span.
UP NEXT
