FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  • Ā The Sooners close out the 2019-20 regular season Saturday with Texas Tech at home. The game will tip at 1 p.m. CT inside Lloyd Noble Center.Ā OU leads the all-time series with Texas Tech 37-25 and holds a 19-9 advantage in Norman. Texas Tech has won the last three meetings.
    Ā
  • Ā OU has lost its last seven games and will look to bounce back against the Red Raiders. The teams played a tight contest earlier in the season on Jan. 21 in Lubbock, with Texas Tech prevailing 89-84 in overtime. The Sooners' Mandy Simpson finished that game with a stuffed stat sheet as she scored a career-high 19 points on 7-for-9 shooting and added nine rebounds and six assists.
    Ā
  • Freshman Gabby Gregory is averaging 13.0 points per game in Big 12 contests entering Wednesday's game. The freshman averaged 8.6 at the start of league play in January. Gregory scored a career-high 30 points at Baylor on Feb. 26 and is the only Big 12 freshman with a 30-point game this season.
    Ā
  • Taylor Robertson has pushed her Big 12 single-season 3-point record to 127 headed into Saturday's game. Robertson sank her 123rd 3-pointer of the season on Feb. 29 at Texas to break the Big 12 single-season 3s record. The previous mark of 122, set by Kansas State's Laurie Koehn, had stood since 2002-03.
    Ā
  • Ā Robertson was also named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award's top 10. The award recognizes the top shooting guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. Robertson is averaging a team-high 20.1 points per game and a nation-leading 4.78 3-pointers per game. The list will be pared down to five finalists in March with the winner named at The College Basketball Awards presented by Wendy's in Los Angeles, Calif., on Friday, April 10, 2020, along with the other four members of the Women's Starting Five.
