NORMAN – For the second time this second time this season,
Taylor Robertson has been named Big 12 Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Robertson shares the award with TCU's Lauren Heard.
This is the sixth conference weekly honor for the McPherson, Kan., product, who was named Co-Player of the Week on Dec. 2 and garnered Big 12 Freshman of the Week accolades four times in 2018-19.
In OU's comeback win at Kansas Sunday, Robertson, who was celebrating her birthday, scored 31 points on 7-for-12 (58.3%) shooting to match her career high. 25 of those points came in the second half and overtime as she led the Sooners to victory. Robertson had five 3-pointers over that stretch after the Sooners had been held scoreless from beyond the arc in the first half.
The sophomore was also a perfect 12-for-12 from the charity stripe in the effort.
With her five treys at Kansas, Robertson has tied the record she set in 2018-19 for the second-most 3-pointers in a single season in OU history with 105. Robertson, who is averaging 5.0 3s per game, needs just 10 more to match the single-season record set of 115 set by Aaryn Ellenberg in 2012-13.
Additionally, Robertson's 31-point performance was her third game with 30+ this season, tying Iowa State's Ashley Joens for the most games with 30 or more points by a Big 12 player this season.
Robertson and the Sooners return to Lloyd Noble Center Wednesday to host West Virginia at 7 p.m. CT.
