MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Oklahoma volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to the No. 13 Kansas State Wildcats Thursday night inside Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kan.
The Sooners dropped to 2-5 on the season, while K-State improved to 4-3. The Wildcats out-killed OU on a .248 hitting percentage while holding OU to .092.
K-State led in kills (46-22) and digs (47-39). The Sooners narrowly out-blocked the Wildcats with a 6.0 to 5.5 advantage.
Offensively, the Sooners were led by
Guewe Diouf who had nine kills on the night.
Tyler Alcorn chipped in five, while
Sarah Maras added three. Setter
Grace Talpash has 17 assists on the night.
Defensively,
Keyton Kinley led the Sooners with 13 digs on the night. Maras and
Sarah Sanders each got in on four blocks to lead all players.
OU raced out to an 8-4 lead in set one, but the Wildcats used a 7-1 run to take an 11-9 lead early on. K-State would hold their lead to take set one, 25-16. In the second set, the Sooners held an 11-10 advantage, but the Wildcats raced out to a 25-17 win.
The final set went back-and forth seeing 14 ties and eight lead changes. Tied at 20-all, K-State would use a 5-2 run to win the set and the match.
The Sooners and Wildcats will be back in action Friday at 6:30 p.m. inside Bramlage Coliseum.
