NORMAN — University of Oklahoma redshirt sophomore center Creed Humphrey earned his fourth All-America honor on Thursday as he was named to the Football Writers Association of America second team.
Humphrey joins junior wide receiver CeeDee Lamb as FWAA All-Americans. Lamb was revealed as a first-team All-American on Friday as part of the organization's spotlight series.
This is the fourth second-team All-America honor for Humphrey, who was also named on the Walter Camp Foundation, the Associated Press and the Sporting News second teams. The Shawnee, Okla., product has started 25 of his 27 career games for the Sooners at the center position. He is the anchor of a line that has paved the way for Oklahoma to lead the nation with 8.2 yards per play and 11.4 yards per pass attempt (min. 10 attempts per game) and rank second nationally in yards per game (554.2), third in yards per completion (16.0) and passing efficiency rating (195.9), fifth in third-down conversion percentage (50.7) and eighth in yards per rush (6.1). In 799 plays this season, Humphrey has registered 93 knockdowns without allowing a sack. He was a Rimington Trophy finalist, Big 12 Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year, a first-team All-Big 12 selection and an Academic All-Big 12 Second Team honoree.
Lamb, who was also named to this season's Walter Camp, FWAA and Associated Press All-America first teams, is OU's 82nd all-time consensus All-American and sixth in the last four years. He joins wide receiver Dede Westbrook (2016), tight end Mark Andrews, offensive tackle Orlando Brown, quarterback Baker Mayfield (2017) and offensive guard Ben Powers (2018).
No. 4-ranked OU will make its 53rd bowl appearance when it takes on No. 1 LSU in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 28 at 3 p.m. CT. The game will be televised by ESPN.
