NORMAN — Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and linebacker Kenneth Murray continued to receive All-America honors Wednesday, as the duo was named to the American Football Coaches Association second team.
Lamb has also earned first-team recognition from the Walter Camp Foundation, FWAA, Associated Press and Sporting News. He ranks third nationally with 14 receiving touchdowns and seventh with his 20.8 yards per catch. He ranks 11th in the country with his 100.7 receiving yards per game despite ranking 69th with 4.8 catches per contest.
The junior from Richmond, Texas, has made at least one touchdown reception in nine of his 12 games this season and is tied for the lead among Power Five players with six games of 135-plus receiving yards. He also leads the nation's non-seniors with his 32 career receiving TDs and 3,173 career receiving yards. Lamb ranks second at OU in career receiving TDs, fourth in career receiving yards and 16th in career all-purpose yards in just under three years of competition.
Murray, who received third-team All-America recognition from the Associated Press, leads the Sooners in tackles (95) and tackles for loss (16.0). He has also accounted for 4.0 sacks, four pass breakups and five quarterback hurries. The junior from Missouri City, Texas, was an All-Big 12 First Team selection and ranked sixth in the Big 12 in conference play with 10.0 tackles for loss (nine solo TFLs). He has totaled at least six tackles in nine games this season and at least two tackles for loss five in five contests.
No. 4-ranked OU will make its 53rd bowl appearance when it takes on No. 1 LSU in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 28 at 3 p.m. CT. The game will be televised by ESPN.
