GAMEDAY STORYLINES

GOLDEN GIRL
For the fourth time this season, senior Kaylee Dao came up with the golden goal to lead Oklahoma to its fourth overtime victory in 2019. Tied at 1-all with Baylor, Dao found the back of the net in the first overtime period to give the Sooners the upset victory over the defending Big 12 regular season champions. The Tulsa, Okla., native also secured the golden goal in a 1-0 win at Arkansas on Aug. 25, a 3-2 victory at Tulsa on Sept. 1 and a 3-2 victory over Kansas State on Oct. 3.

OVERTIME AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN
The Sooners played a pair of overtime games on the weekend to make it a streak of four-straight games where extra time was needed to decide a winner. In 2019, the Sooners have played a program-record nine overtime games. OU has posted a 4-2-3 record in those games, with Dao netting the game winner in each one. Of their five Big 12 games, the Sooners have finished just one in regulation.

DAO NAMED SENIOR CLASS FINALIST
Kaylee Dao has been chosen as one of 10 finalists for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award in college soccer. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

A two-time All-Big 12 first team honoree and 2018 All-Region second team honoree, Dao has started every game for the Sooners this season. Through 15 games, Dao leads the team with 12 goals, including four game winners and three penalty kick conversions. She has moved in to third all-time in OU history with 28 career goals and second all-time with 10 game winners.

Dao completed her undergraduate degree with a double major in environmental sustainability and social sciences and organizational studies in Aug. 2019. A redshirt senior, she is working toward a master's degree in human relations and currently boasts a 4.0 GPA.

IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Kaylee Dao has broken her way into the OU record books this season. With 12 goals on the year, the Tulsa, Okla., native has brought her career total to 28 to rank third-all time. Dao is also tied for second in program history with 10 game-winning goals in her career. Dao's 12 goals rank third all-time in a single season, while her four game-winners and 24 points each rank fifth.

SUNDAYS ARE FOR THE SOONERS
The Sooners have shown that Sunday is their favorite day, posting a 5-1-1 record in Sunday games. OU won its first three Sunday games of the year and has scored at least one goal in every Sunday game. OU has won three overtime games on Sundays with wins at Arkansas (Aug. 25), Tulsa (Sept. 1) and against Baylor (Oct. 13) and defeated both Arizona and Houston, 2-1, in regulation. Dao has scored at least one goal in five of the seven Sunday games, including two game winners. Sophomore keeper Megan McClay is 4-1-0 on Sundays in goal in this season.Ā

COMEBACK KIDS
Three times this season, the Sooners have overcome deficits with a vengeance. When Oklahoma State came to town on Aug. 29, OU found itself in a 2-0 hole with just 15 minutes left in regulation. Kaylee Dao stepped up with a penalty kick conversion in the 75th minute and an equalizer in the 87th minute to lead OU to a comeback draw. Just three days later and with OU down, 2-1, Dao once again found the equalizer and the game-winner as OU secured the 3-2 comeback victory over Tulsa. Against Baylor, the Sooners found themselves trailing 1-0 after the Bears took the lead in the 13th minute. Freshman Maya McCutcheon found the equalizer in the 77th minute and Dao netted the golden goal in the 94th minute.
