In its last contest on Dec. 16, Oklahoma (1-1, 0-1 Big 12) defeated Appalachian State 20-12 on the road for the Sooners' first dual win of the season. Six OU wrestlers notched wins against the Mountaineers, with Davion Jeffries defeating App State's Matt Zovistoski in a tech fall (18-2).

At 141, Dom Demas is the Sooners' lone representative in the InterMat and FloWrestling rankings, checking in at No. 8 in both polls. In Trackwrestling's rankings, Demas is also No. 8, while Jake Woodley is No. 24 at 197. OU was tabbed No. 34 in the team rankings.

Demas has been named Big 12 Wrestler of the week twice this season, becoming the first OU wrestler to receive multiple conference weekly awards in a season since Kendric Maple collected four in 2013.

The Columbus, Ohio, native leads the team in wins with 16 and pins with 4.
