NORMAN — Oklahoma wrestling head coach Lou Rosselli welcomed the addition of three wrestlers to the Sooner program on Friday in Jacob Butler, Brett Campbell and Kayne MacCallum

Butler, from Elgin, Okla., signs with the Sooners following a 176-9 career high school record, including a 41-0 mark as a senior. Butler most recently won the Oklahoma Class 4A State Championship at 138 pounds in 2018, along with state titles in 2016 and 2017.

“Jacob is an Oklahoma kid and a three-time state champion," said assistant coach Mike Lightner. "We are excited to have him on the team because of his amazing talent and great upside. We look forward to having him train in an elite environment with great workout partners to see him reach his fullest potential."

MacCallum joins the Sooners after spending four years at Eastern Michigan University. A Libertyville, Ill., native, MacCallum won the 2018 Mid-American Conference title at 184 pounds, qualifying for the NCAA Championships, and he placed second as a freshman at the Eastern Michigan Open. In 2017-18, he totaled 17 overall wins and finished with a 10-6 record in duals.

“We're excited with the addition of Kayne to our program. He's a MAC Champion and an NCAA qualifier," said assistant coach Nick Heflin. "He will be a great addition for our upperweights and I'm excited to work with him."

Campbell, of Lee's Summit, Mo., will be a welcome addition to the Sooners following an illustrious high school career at Summit Christian Academy. Campbell posted a career 200-15 record with 139 pins for Summit Christian en route to the Missouri Class 1 District 4 title in both 2017 and 2018 at 182 pounds and 220 pounds, respectively.

In the classroom, Campbell has maintained a 3.9 GPA while earning Academic All-State honors in 2017. He also earned All-State honors in football.

“Brett is an outstanding student that has been undefeated in his last two seasons in high school," Rosselli said. "He will be a great addition to our program and I look forward to working with him."

Also joining the Sooners for the 2018-19 campaign are Jaryn Curry, Tommy Hoskins, Josiah Jones, Anthony Madrigal and Jordan Rosselli, all of whom signed to Oklahoma in November.

Curry and Hoskins finished their high school careers as three-time state champions in Oklahoma and Ohio, respectively. Jones was a two-time state runner-up while at Bishop McCourt High School in Johnstown, Pa. Madrigal was a 2015 Fargo All-American and two-time runner-up at the Illinois State Championship. Rosselli, son of head coach Lou Rosselli, won the 2017 Liberty Classic and finished fourth-place at the 2017 Ohio State Championships.
