My Super Bowl Moment: Geneo Grissom

With New England's recent 34-28 victory over Atlanta in Super Bowl LI in one of the greatest comebacks in sports history, Geneo Grissom became OU's 30th Super Bowl Champion.

Grissom, a defensive end and linebacker for the Sooners from 2011-14, played 17 snaps against the Falcons, all on special teams, as the Patriots overcame a 25-point deficit with 2:07 remaining in the third quarter, breaking the record for the largest deficit overcome to win a Super Bowl (the previous record was 10).

OU's 30th Super Bowl Champion also became the second in as many years to hoist the Lombardi Trophy, following Corey Nelson's Super Bowl 50 title with the Broncos in 2016.

Drafted by the Patriots in the third round (97th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft, Grissom has appeared in 25 games in his first two seasons in the league. And while winning the Super Bowl has certainly been the highlight so far, Grissom is looking to make a much bigger impact on the field moving forward.

"I'm not going to stop until I'm satisfied with where I am," he said. "I know I have a long way to go, and every day I just go out there and make sure I put my best effort forward."
