NORMAN — Oklahoma wrestling head coach Lou Rosselli announced Thursday the signing of five wrestlers to National Letters of Intent. Jaryn Curry, Tommy Hoskins, Josiah Jones, Anthony Madrigal and Jordan Rosselli will join the Sooners for the 2018-19 season.
“It's a pretty strong recruiting class,” Coach Rosselli said. “I'm very happy to have the kids that we have. I think if they come in and do the things they're capable of, they should definitely help the program.”
Choctaw, Okla. | Choctaw HS
OU Assistant Coach Michael Lightner on Jaryn:
"He brings in a lot of talent and potential. We are excited to get an Oklahoma kid on the roster, and we expect big things."
Xenia, Ohio | Legacy Christian Academy
OU Head Coach Lou Rosselli on Tommy:
“A great athlete, and I think he will contribute. When he gets in a structured program like this, he's going to excel. I'm looking for a certain type of person, and he fits the mold. With getting an education and working out twice a day, people that can handle that rigor are the kind of people we want, and I think he fits it. That'll help our program build a culture, and I think he can help us do that.”
Johnstown, Pa. | Bishop McCourt HS
OU Assistant Coach Michael Lightner on Josiah:
“Josiah is a good pickup out of the state of Pennsylvania. He's a top-10 at 220 pounds and a two-time state runner-up. He's extremely athletic, and we'll look for him to grow into a solid heavyweight.”
Oak Park, Ill. | Oak Park River Forest HS
OU Head Coach Lou Rosselli on Anthony:
“Tony's a good top wrestler who I think has been well-coached. I think he'll be a 133 or 141 wrestler down the road, and that will be an asset to the program. He's good on top, and I think he's competitive. He wrestles nationally, which is always something you look for. His pedigree is high, and I'm looking forward to him being here.”
Powell, Ohio | Olentangy Liberty HS
OU Head Coach Lou Rosselli on Jordan:
“He's a 125-pounder. He started wrestling late, but I know that with his academics and his work ethic that he'll prosper here. That's the goal: for everyone to improve and be better. As he enters the program, he knows what I'm looking for and the expectation of what our program stands for.”
