TULSA, Okla. With a 2-0 win over the Memphis Tigers on Sunday afternoon, the Oklahoma women's soccer team capped an undefeated weekend at the Tulsa Classic. The match was played inside Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.

The Sooners picked up their third straight victory and moved to 5-2-1 overall on the season, while the Tigers fell to 5-2-0. Both teams were balanced on the offensive end, with OU recording 10 shots to Memphis' nine. OU held a four to one advantage in shots on goal.

"We showed great perseverance and endeavor today knowing the task against Memphis would challenge us to stay engaged with their talent and organization," fifth-year OU head coach Matt Potter said. "Halftime gave us an opportunity to adjust and we were rewarded."

Toward the end of the first half, the Sooners started to put on some offensive pressure and carried that moment into the second frame, where they finally broke onto the scoreboard 10 minutes into the half.

In the 55th minute, senior forward Liz Keester put the Sooners on top 1-0 with the gamewinner off a forward pass from classmate Shiloh Price. The score was a team-high third for Keester this season, and Price now has two assists.

Just two minutes later, the OU lead stretched to 2-0 as junior defender Madeline Brem scored her first goal of the season. Senior midfielder Jemma Cota recorded the assist on the score.

The shutout was the third this season for redshirt senior Kassidie Stade and the OU defense. Stade finished the match with a save as she improved to 5-2-1 this season in goal.

"I am encouraged with the weekend's work and manner of the team's performances," Potter said. "We are showing maturity and growth against quality opponents. Now we can go home, rest up and then get ready for another challenging road trip!"

Next weekend, the Sooners head West for a pair of matches in the state of Arizona. OU will face Arizona at 9 p.m. CT on Friday before playing at Grand Canyon at 3 p.m. CT on Sunday. The contests will conclude a six-match road stretch for OU. This season, the Sooners are celebrating 20 years of their program, which began in 1996.
