NORMAN – The No. 11 University of Oklahoma wrestling team is set to compete in the Big 12 Championship this Saturday and Sunday, March 5-6, inside the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. The championship will get underway at 11 a.m. Saturday.
This season, the conference tournament will have a new look as Air Force, Northern Colorado, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Utah Valley and Wyoming joined Iowa State, the Sooners, Oklahoma State and West Virginia as members of Big 12 wrestling. This is the first season that the now-10-team tournament is shifting to a neutral site and expanding to a two-day event.

OU'S BIG 12 HISTORY
The Sooners will look for their 24th conference championships (third Big 12 championship) and first since 2002. OU has tallied two Big 12 conference crowns, coming in 1999 and 2002. The Sooners have earned 18 individual Big 12 championships, including one from redshirt senior Cody Brewer, who is currently in the OU lineup.
Last season, the Sooners finished in third place with 43 points inside Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.
BROADCAST INFO
The first three sessions of the championship will be broadcast through FloWrestling, while the championship session at 1 p.m. on Sunday will be broadcast live on Fox Sports regional networks.
UP NEXT
Sooners who qualify for the 2016 NCAA Championships will travel to Madison Square Garden in New York City. Competition is slated for March 17-19.
