NORMAN – The No. 17 Oklahoma wrestling team begins its home slate this weekend with a pair of matches in McCasland Field House. The Sooners will host No. 11 Michigan on Friday at 7 p.m. and welcome Big 12 opponent North Dakota State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The weekend marks the first home competition for new OU head coach Lou Rosselli, as well as assistant coach Keith Gavin and volunteer assistant Hunter Stieber. The Sooners are coming off competition at the Journeymen/ASICS Collegiate Classic in Troy, N.Y., which marked the official start of the 2016-17 season.
Freshman Dalton Duffield went 2-0 in the tournament to win the 125B division and junior DaWaylon Barnes posted a 3-0 record, including a win by fall over No. 15 B.J. Clagon of Rider, to take the 157A crown.
Friday's dual with Michigan will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Oklahoma Plus, while the match with North Dakota State will air live on Fox Sports Oklahoma and Fox College Sports Central. Fans can find live results for both duals on TrackWrestling.com or on Twitter at @OU_Wrestling.
