NORMAN – The No. 12 University of Oklahoma wrestling team returns to the mat this Saturday (Jan. 9) for a dual against new Big 12-opponent Wyoming. The match, slated for 8 p.m. CT, will be held in the UniWyo Sports Complex in Laramie, Wyo.
The Sooners are coming off a finish of 14th place at the Midlands Championship on Dec. 28-29, despite being without two ranked wrestlers in Ryan Millhof (No. 14 at 125 pounds) and Cody Brewer (No. 3 at 133 pounds) as well as starter Davion Jeffries (141 pounds). Redshirt junior Ross Larson placed fourth at the tournament, posting a 4-2 record including wins overs then-No. 7 Blaize Cabell of Northern Iowa and No. 8 Sam Stoll of Iowa.
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's dual marks the 19th matchup between Oklahoma and Wyoming with the Sooners holding a 15-3 advantage. The Cowboys took the last contest with an 18-16 win over OU last season in Norman.
RANKED COMPETITORS
Four Sooners are ranked in the latest InterMat polls in Ryan Millhof (No. 14 at 125 pounds), Cody Brewer (No. 3 at 133 pounds), Clark Glass (No. 9 at 165 pounds) and Ross Larson (No. 14 at 285 pounds).
