Oklahoma vs. Iowa State
Big 12 Championship Semifinals
March 13, 2015

• No. 3 seed Oklahoma had an opportunity to send the game to overtime with a layup in the waning seconds but didn't convert in a 67-65 loss to No. 2 seed Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship semifinals. OU was looking to makes its first Big 12 title game since 2003.

• No. 2 seed Iowa State advances to play No. 1 seed Kansas in Saturday's championship game.

• Iowa State entered the game averaging 79.0 points per contest on the season. The Sooners have now held 25 of their 32 opponents to point totals below their season average at the time of competition.

• Oklahoma led by as many as 11 in the first half before settling for a 29-29 tie at halftime. It fell behind by 8 (50-42) with 12:17 left in the game but rallied to take a 58-54 lead with 5:44 to go. Iowa State outscored the Sooners 13-7 down the stretch to claim the season series.

• OU held leads of 20 points against Iowa State in Norman, 21 in Ames and 11 tonight in Kansas City. It won only the game in Norman.

• The Sooners lost despite registering their largest rebounding victory of the season. They outboarded the Cyclones 43-27.

• OU had outscored opponents off turnovers in nine of the last 11 games and in 24 of 31 games on the year entering tonight, but Iowa State posted a 17-10 advantage. The Sooners committed 14 turnovers to ISU's eight.

• Big 12 Player of the Year Buddy Hield scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the year (fifth of career). He has led OU in scoring in 13 of the last 19 games.

• Playing in just his second Big 12 tourney game, senior forward TaShawn Thomas registered his fifth double-double (second consecutive) with 13 points and 10 boards. He was 5 for 6 from the floor with 2 blocks and 2 assists.

• On his 21st birthday, junior guard Isaiah Cousins went 4 for 9 from 3-point range and finished with 14 points and 3 assists. He entered the game as the Big 12's leader in 3-point field goal percentage.

• Sophomore point guard Jordan Woodard scored 13 points and pulled down 7 rebounds (one shy of a season high). He has scored at least 8 points in 15 of the last 16 outings.
