NORMAN – The No. 7 University of Oklahoma wrestling team travels to Las Vegas, Nev., this Friday and Saturday (Dec. 4-5) for the 2015 Cliff Keen Invitational. The 33-team tournament is being held in the Cashman Center and is slated to begin at 11 a.m. CT.
The Sooners are coming off a 23-12 win over then-No. 3 Michigan. OU picked up six wins in the dual, including a technical fall victory at 133 pounds when No. 1 Cody Brewer collected two 4-point nearfalls en route to defeating then-No. 6 Rossi Bruno, 18-2 (6:54). Ryan Millhof (125), Davion Jeffries (149), Shayne Tucker (157), Clark Glass (165) and Matt Reed (174) also registered wins for OU.
Ranked Competitors
The tournament features 13 teams ranked in the NWCA's top 25, including five teams in the top 10 of the latest poll in No. 3 Ohio State, No. 6 Virginia Tech, No. 8 Missouri, No. 9 Michigan and the Sooners.
The OU roster features seven ranked wrestlers in No. 1 Cody Brewer (133 pounds), No. 8 Ross Larson (285 pounds), No. 9 Clark Glass (165 pounds), No. 12 Matt Reed (174 pounds), No. 14 Davion Jeffries (149 pounds), No. 17 Ryan Millhof (125 pounds) and No. 20 Brad Johnson (197 pounds).
