Sooners Tabbed for 2016 Puerto Rico Tip-Off

NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma is one of eight men's basketball teams headed to San Juan for the annual Puerto Rico Tip-Off to begin the 2016-17 season. Taking place Nov. 17-20, the Sooners will be joined by Arizona State, Clemson, Davidson, Missouri, Northern Iowa, Tulane and Xavier.

Although playing for the first time in this particular event, the Sooners have previously competed in the Puerto Rico Holiday Classic during the 1998-99 season.

The 2016 Puerto Rico Tip-Off will be the 10th annual event, held each November inside Roberto Clemente Coliseum. The tournament is owned and operated by ESPN.
