Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech
Jan. 28, 2015
• No. 24 Oklahoma set a Big 12 record for fewest points allowed in a conference game in an 81-36 home win over Texas Tech. The 45-point win was OU's second largest of the Big 12 era in league play (beat Baylor by 49 points in the 2002-03 season).
• The 45-point win tied for the eighth largest in Big 12 history in conference play.
• The last time OU held an opponent to fewer points was Dec. 2, 2006, when it beat TCU 63-35 (TCU was a member of the Mountain West Conference at the time).
• OU shot 52.5 percent from the field while holding the Red Raiders to a 21.2-percent mark, the lowest by an opponent in 11 years.
• Oklahoma broke the game open with a 31-1 run that started with 2:24 left in the first half and ended with 13:23 to go in the second. The Sooners increased their 26-16 lead to 57-17 with the spurt.
• The Sooners outscored Texas Tech 32-6 off turnovers. In 10 home games this season, OU holds a 205-88 advantage in points off turnovers.
• OU tied a season high with 10 blocked shots. Freshman Khadeem Lattin registered a career-high five while Ryan Spangler added three.
• OU's bench outscored the opponent's bench for the first time in eight games. The Sooners' reserves posted an 18-17 advantage tonight.
• Spangler scored a season-high 20 points (one shy of career high) on 8-for-9 field goal shooting in only 25 minutes.
• Junior guard Buddy Hield scored 15 points on 7-for-13 shooting and pulled down seven boards. It marked the first time in seven games he did not lead OU in scoring.
• Junior guard Isaiah Cousins, who only played 18 minutes Saturday at Baylor due to a right wrist injury, tallied 13 points, five assists (his second most of the season) and three steals. Playing with his wrist taped, Cousins improved his Big 12-best 3-point field goal percentage to 45.5 percent. He was 3 for 4 from deep tonight.
• Sophomore guard Frank Booker came off the bench to score eight points, his second most of the season, while adding a season-high four rebounds in 17 minutes.
• Sophomore walk-on guard Daniel Harper scored his first career points with a corner 3-pointer with 1:48 remaining.
• OU plays its second Bedlam game in two weeks when it travels to face Oklahoma State on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT (televised by ESPN2). The Sooners own a 132-95 series advantage and have won five of the last six meetings (four of the last nine in Stillwater).
