IRVING, Texas -- For the second week in a row, OU goalkeeper Kaitlyn Fahrner is the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

The Las Vegas, Nev., native captured her second straight honor after tallying nine saves versus two top-ranked foes in No. 2 Florida State and No. 6 Florida. Fahrner was an instrumental part in Oklahoma's win over the Gators, notching four saves to aid the Sooners to a 2-1 victory. She added an additional five saves against the second-ranked Seminoles on Sunday.

Fahrner has started every match for Oklahoma this season, logging 18 saves and one shutout in four matches. The redshirt freshman is tied for the Big 12 lead in save percentage (.857), while her 18 total saves are second in the league. Fahrner is also ranked third in the conference in goals-against average (0.73) through four contests.

OU is set to hit the road for the first time this fall on Friday, facing No. 16 Nebraska in Lincoln. The teams will square off at 5:30 p.m. before Oklahoma returns home for a contest with Central Arkansas on Sunday at 1 p.m.
