OU Wrestling Announces 2014-15 Schedule

OU Wrestling Inks Five for 2015-16

NORMAN -- University of Oklahoma head wrestling coach Mark Cody announced Monday the signing of five wrestlers to national letters of intent. Joining the Sooners next season will be Sean Deshazer, Hayden Hansen, Davion Jeffries, Dylan Lucas and Christian Moody.

SEAN DESHAZER
Wichita, Kan.
Wichita Heights High School

  • Ranked No. 3 at 132 pounds
  • Has won three straight Kansas Class 6A state titles (106 pounds in 2012, 113 pounds in 2013 and 126 pounds in 2014)
  • Two-time Fargo All-American
  • Finished second at Folkstyle Nationals in spring 2014

OU Assistant Coach Michael Lightner on Sean Deshazer:
“Sean Deshazer is a three-time Kansas champion and a high school All-American. Sean has great athletic ability. He is an explosive and exciting wrestler.”

HAYDEN HANSEN
Norman, Okla.
Norman North High School

  • Ranked No. 7 at 160 Pounds
  • Finished third at 2014 Oklahoma Class 6A State Championships at 145 pounds
  • Junior National All-American

Hayden Hansen is a high school All-American from Norman North High School. He is a student of the sport and has a great work ethic in the wrestling room. He is an exciting wrestler to watch because he has an aggressive style.”

DAVION JEFFRIES
Broken Arrow, Okla.
Broken Arrow High School

  • No. 5 at 138
  • Two-time Oklahoma Class 5A state champion at Collinsville High School (2012, 2013)
  • 2014 state runner-up at 126 pounds for Broken Arrow at 126 pounds
  • Two-time Fargo National All-American
  • Two-time Mid-America Nationals champion
  • Holds a 126-9 record in high school through three seasons

Davion Jeffries is a two-time Oklahoma champ and a runner-up finisher at the Super 32 tournament. Davion is a dangerous wrestler that can pin opponents from any position. He has great upside with his best wrestling in front of him.”

Ardmore, Okla.
Plainview High School

  • No. 8 at 138
  • Four-time Florida state champion (at Brandon High School in Brandon, Fla.)
  • High school All-American

“Dylan Lucas is a four-time Florida state champion and a high school All-American. Dylan possesses great technical skills and has great natural abilities for wrestling. He has competed at many national level tournaments in high school and finished well at them.”

CHRISTIAN MOODY
Collinsville, Okla.
Collinsville High School

  • Ranked No. 11 at 120 pounds
  • Two-time Oklahoma Class 5A state champion (2013 at 106 pounds, 2014 at 113 pounds)
  • Entered his final high school season with a career record of 108-12
  • Cadet All-American
  • Collinsville High School has won state titles in each of Moody's seasons

Christian Moody is a two-time Oklahoma state champ from Collinsville High School. He will provide great depth for our lineup at 125 pounds. He is a talented athlete with great potential at the next level.”
