Sooners Seek to Avenge 2013 Loss to Longhorn as Stoops, Strong Lead Squads into AT&T Red River Showdown

• The 109th installment of the AT&T Red River Showdown is one of football most storied rivalries and dates back to 1900.
• OU-Texas has been played in Dallas on 91 previous occasions. This will be the 86th consecutive meeting in Big D (since 1929).
• Texas leads the all-time series 60-43-5, including a 48-39-4 mark in the previous 91 games in Dallas.
• Oklahoma seeks to regain a pair of prized traveling trophies - The Golden Hat Trophy and the Governors' Trophy.
• OU had a nine-game victory streak stopped with a 37-33 loss at No. 25 TCU (10/4). Texas lost 28-7 vs. No. 7 Baylor (10/4).
• OU is 9-6 vs. Texas under Stoops. Seven of the nine victories were by double digits, including four by 30+ points.

Sooners Strong vs. Unranked Foes, Oklahoma Seeks Fast Start Against Longhorns, Shepard Continues to Shine

• Oklahoma is 22-1 (7 straight wins) in its last 23 games vs. unranked foes. That lone loss was a 36-20 decision vs. UT (10/12/13).
• Dating back to 2010, Texas is 4-17 (5 straight losses) vs. AP Top 25 foes.
• OU is outscoring foes 72-21 in the first quarter and scores 26.0 ppg in the first half. UT averages 18.4 ppg for all four quarters.
• OU has scored 48 combined points in the first half of its last two games, while Texas has 44 first-half points all season.
• Texas has been outscored 96-92 (-0.8 ppg) in 2014, while Oklahoma is outpointing foes 212-103 (+21.8 ppg).

Since 2009, Oklahoma has won 10 straight rematch games against squads that defeated the Sooners the prior season. The Sooners seek to run that streak to 11 games when they meet Texas Saturday. Since the start of the 2000 season, Oklahoma has never dropped back-to-back regular season games under Bob Stoops, going 31-0 in the regular season in games following a loss.

Both head coaches in the 2014 edition of the AT&T Red River Rivalry previously served as assistants at Florida under current South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrrier. The Gators compiled a 32-5 record with Stoops ('96-98) working as Florida's asst. head coach/defensive coordinator, winning the national title in 1996. Strong served four different stints in Gainesville, working under Spurrier in '91-94. He later served as Urban Meyer's defensive coordinantor from 2003-09. That stretch included two national championships.
The last four OU-Texas contests have been won the squad after after two quarters. OU owns the nation's longest active winning streak when leading at halftime (45 games).
