NORMAN, Okla. -- The fourth-ranked Oklahoma wrestling team (5-0) travels to Laramie, Wyo., for its first road contest of the 2013-14 season as it faces Wyoming (1-4) at 8 p.m. CT on Thursday, Jan. 9 inside Arena-Auditorium.

The dual will be the Sooners' first time in action since competiting in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 6 and 7, which they won with a total of 154.5 points. It is also OU's first dual competition since defeating conference foe Oklahoma State 16-15 in comeback fashion on Sunday, Dec. 1.

OU enters the dual with seven wrestlers ranked in the top 20, according to InterMat's latest poll, while Wyoming has two ranked competitors.

The 125-pound match pits two ranked opponents in OU's No. 5 Jarrod Patterson and Wyoming's No. 8 Tyler Cox.

Two Sooners in Andrew Howe and Travis Rutt enter the dual looking to retain their undefeated records. Howe, who is ranked No. 1 at 174 pounds and carries a 12-0 record, will compete with Wyoming redshirt freshman Brent Havlik or sophomore Jace Jensen. Third-ranked Rutt (13-0) will face junior Shane Woods at 197 pounds.

At 133 pounds, No. 8 Cody Brewer will take on Gunnar Woodburn, a redshirt freshman and mid-year transfer from Oklahoma State, while No. 12 Nick Lester will match up against redshirt freshman Cole Mendenhall or senior Kyle Komata.

Fourth-ranked 149-pounder Kendric Maple will wrestle Wyoming junior Brandon Richardson. In the 157-pound bout, redshirt junior Justin DeAngelis will look to defeat 18th-ranked Andy McCulley, a junior for the Cowboys.

Redshirt freshman Clark Glass will compete with junior Dakota Friesth in the 165-pound match, and freshman Danny Chaid will face redshirt freshman Benjamin Stroh at 184 pounds.

No. 14 Ross Larson will match up with Wyoming junior Leland Pfeifer or sophomore Tanner Harms at heavyweight.

Oklahoma leads the all-time series against Wyoming, 14-2-2, but Wyoming has captured the last two duals, including a 25-13 victory last season.
