NORMAN, Okla. -- The 10th-ranked University of Oklahoma wrestling squad will travel to Columbia, Mo., to do battle against No. 13 Missouri on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m., inside the Hearnes Center.
Heading into Sunday's showdown, Oklahoma (12-2, 3-1) is riding a three match winning-streak over the Tigers (11-2, 2-1). Earlier this season, the Sooners narrowly defeated then-No. 9 Missouri, 19-18, in Norman. The Sooners hold a 42-8-0 advantage all-time against Missouri.
“We are looking forward to the dual with Missouri," Mark Cody said. "It is going to be another great match. I think that major decisions are going to decide this match. We have already wrestled them once and beat them earlier in the year, but we cannot go in there with the mindset that we beat them once and we can do it again. They are a much different team than we saw earlier and so are we."
Oklahoma is 9-1 since the holiday break and is riding a nine match winning-streak that includes wins over No. 14 Lehigh (22-16), No. 24 Virginia Tech (19-12), Arizona State (33-7), Iowa State (19-16), Harvard (28-9), Appalachian State (41-0), Utah Valley (43-0, No. 18 Binghamton (20-15) and Navy (26-10).
Following this weekend's action, Cody's squad will head to Ithaca, N.Y., to compete in the 2012 NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals. There the Sooners will compete against the likes of Cornell, Central Michigan, Illinois, Purdue and American University.
