LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The sixth-ranked Oklahoma softball team scored nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning as the Sooners routed Louisiana-Monroe 14-4 in five innings Saturday evening at the Troy Cox Classic. Ricketts made it 2-0 for the Sooners when she scored Jessica Shults on a single up the middle. Oklahoma pushed it to a 3-0 advantage when Haley Nix scored on a double by Jones.

The Sooners added a single run in the bottom of the second when Martinez scored on a Shults single to give OU a 4-0 advantage. Nix added her second run of the game in the third when she scored on a wild pitch to put OU up 5-0.

Martinez led off the inning with a single and moved to third on a Williams double to right center. Shults then walked to load the bases before being hit by Nix's base hit that left the bases juiced with one out.

Following a pitching change, Ali Vandever recorded a sacrifice fly to plate Ricketts.
