NORMAN — Oklahoma Softball was well represented in the 2026 Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) Draft, with the Sooners leading all collegiate programs with nine selections between the expansion and allocation drafts.
Sydney Romero,
Sam Landry,
Kelly Maxwell,
Kinzie Hansen,
Jayda Coleman,
Alyssa Brito, Jocelyn Alo,
Rylie Boone and Haley Lee comprised the Sooners selected. UCLA's six draftees were second behind OU.
Four Sooners were selected over the first five picks of the allocation draft.
The expansion draft featured 13 picks made between the new additions to the AUSL, the Cascade and Spark. Three Sooners remain in Oklahoma City, with Romero, Hansen and Lee joining the expansion team, the AUSL Spark. The allocation draft provided chances for all six teams to select players who opted in for AUSL consideration.
There were 43 players drafted in total, bringing the league to 78 athletes. Remaining roster spots for each team will be rounded out by draft-eligible NCAA athletes taken in the AUSL College Draft. As done in the spring of 2025, golden tickets will be delivered to those players.
