NORMAN, Okla. - The Sooner volleyball team and the OU Athletics Marketing Department have a number of promotions set for the upcoming 2009 home season. Oklahoma opens at home against Missouri on Sept. 19. Among the highlights this season include pizza for students every Wednesday night and the Matt Boggs Band, featuring Matt Boggs from the CMT show Can You Duet? post-match on Nov. 18.

With the Missouri match scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. due to the OU-Tulsa football game, admission will be free for the contest against the Tigers as the volleyball team celebrates Fan Appreciation Day. Students who are members of Sooner Nation will also receive double points for attending the match.
On Wednesday, Sept. 30, the Sooners take on Nebraska on ESPNU and will honor head coach Santiago Restrepo's son, Javier, who passed away from leukemia in July. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and the first 1,500 fans receive a “Fight like a Champion” bracelet.
The team welcomes participants for the Kids' Day clinic on Saturday, Oct. 3. The clinic runs from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. CT and 250 snap bracelets are available for those who stay to watch the match. Greek Night is Wednesday, Oct. 7 and 250 OU volleyball sunglasses are up for grabs for students. The team will honor the OU faculty and staff on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The first 250 fans through the doors receive an OU volleyball koozie.
It'll be a frightfully fun match on Halloween, Oct. 31 as the Sooners host Kansas State. Candy will be given out to fans who attend the match in costume. By showing a football ticket for the OU-Kansas State football game scheduled that same day, fans can receive a general admission ticket for $3.
Hispanic Heritage night is Saturday, Nov. 7 and 250 stadium cups will be the giveaway. The first 250 fans also receive a free popcorn and small drink. On Wednesday, Nov. 18, students are the focus at Student Night. The match against Texas A&M marks the return of 50-cent hot dogs and Cokes. The Matt Boggs Band will also perform post-match.
At the Sooners' final home contest of the season, OU welcomes all military personnel for Military Night. All military members receive a discounted admission rate.
