HOUSTON – The University of Oklahoma volleyball team held Nicholls State to a .010 hitting percentage as the Sooners (3-0) rolled past the Colonels (0-2), 3-0 [25-15, 25-14, 25-15], Saturday morning at the Mizuno Invitational.
Junior Chrissy Disarro led OU offensively with seven kills, a .467 clip and three block assists.
Senior Bridget Laplante totaled 14 digs to go along with her seven kills. Laplante also contributed four service aces.
Sophomore Brianne Barker continued her consistent play, recording her third straight double-double with 24 assists and 11 digs.
Freshman Morgan Reynolds had a match-high eight kills and added six digs.
Junior Francie Ekwerekwu carried the Sooners at the net with five total blocks, including three block solos. Ekwerekwu added five kills.
Oklahoma dropped eight total blocks and only allowed four ties and four lead changes during the match.
The Sooners close out action at the 2009 Mizuno Inivtational later this afternoon, taking on Central Arkansas at 5:30 p.m. CT.
