LUBBOCK, Texas – The University of Oklahoma volleyball team got back in the win column Saturday morning, using the minimum sets to down Texas Tech (-15, -19, -21). The Sooners (18-8, 11-6 Big 12) got double-digit kill totals from two players and hit .241 as a team to down the Red Raiders (2-23, 0-16 Big 12). Sophomore Suzy Boulavsky had 16 kills, while junior Sarah Freudenrich added 14 to lead Oklahoma offensively. Freudenrich also hit .650 with just one attack error in 20 attempts. She added three block assists to tie for the team high in the category. Boulavsky hit .303. Sophomore setter Brianne Barker continued her steady play, tallying 34 assists and 12 digs for her 20th double-double this season. Senior Bridget Laplante added 11 digs and two block assists. Junior Francie Ekwerekwu recorded OU's only block solo and dropped two block assists. Oklahoma held the Red Raiders to a .056 hitting percentage. Amanda Dowdy was the only TTU player with double-digit kills with 13. The only other Red Raider to post a double-digit total was Karlyn Meyers' 19 assists. The Sooners return home Wednesday to host Texas A&M in a 7 p.m. CT contest at McCasland Field House. The contest has been designated as Student Night. Students receive free admission and pizza. The Matt Boggs Band will perform post-match.
